the idea is gr8 for ppl terrifed of getting rid of crappy xp.but all current 64bits os from ms has a systemwow64 folder. thats the emulationpart. here are the extra 1 gb of files need to run 32bit apps.bf2 is an exampel. its kinda old. written for 32bit xp works without hassle in win7. if not working try chose a compatilbitemode like xp or vista for the .exe file.99% of all things for me games/apps and alot of crap works in win7 without tweaking. xpmode is just resourcehungry. rightclick .exe file choose complailbe with xp or vista and u dont need the xpmodecrap.

true it does not work on xp home but why would it? anyone running xp home is very unlikely to want this anyway. this is quite different from virtual pc and is not intended for running legacy or current desktop operating systems, it's for running server operating systems only. there's no emulated sound card or many other features of virtual pc, but there are many advanced features that only server administrators are likely to need or understand.

finally, someone gets it. this is the way all software should work.it works so well, some days i don't even have to open windows explorer.i can usually think of several things any program needs, but not this one. when a program works this well, i am reluctant to ask for anything. ok, maybe an optional viewer window for popular file types and a search within option. but really, i'm happy with it just like it is. (using 1.2.1.451 alpha)

apparently your only two choices are: clear and pixelated or bold and blurry.

i'm going to troll and give it a 4 based on previous versions. - decent lens correction (dxo is better)- limited to nef format for raw input.the nikon press release on their website was rather boring and most of the new features are present in dxo and lightroom. nikon is really just playing catchup - although i am curious to see how the interface has been improved. nx v1.x had a horrible interface that was unintuitive and rather cumbersome.ffective workflow with processing raw images is extremely important to me. lightroom is decent, however, it really pushes organization by metatags too much and it lacks lens correction which completely destryos it for me.i've found that hands down, the best raw image processing software is dxo. for processing wide angle shots and fisheye lens shots, it's correction is phenominal, and it does an amazing job of fixing images based upon the camera body and lenses used.like nx, it cannot input dng files, however, it does export as dng (albeit linear dng files which are huge)!so if you like capture nx, do yourself a favor and try dxo.
